Divergent Donuts has never been just a business; it has been a journey of passion, resilience, and the pursuit of a dream. What began in a small kitchen in 2011 as homemade donut holes shared with colleagues grew into a vision of crafting flavors that surprise, delight, and bring joy to every bite.

Founded by Ewuraesi Richetts, Divergent Donuts was born out of a love for baking and a determination to create something different. From the early days of catering parties with earl grey and lemon poppyseed donuts, to the opening of a storefront filled with community events, Divergent has always been about more than pastries—it has been about people.

Like many small businesses, Divergent has weathered unexpected challenges, from the pandemic to personal health struggles. Through it all, the commitment to creativity and community never wavered.

Now, Divergent Donuts enters a new chapter. Due to circumstances beyond her control, Ewuraesi has made the difficult decision to step away from daily operations. To carry the vision forward, leadership of Divergent Donuts has transitioned to Taylor Edwards of Totally Baked by Tay. Taylor has been a trusted partner and collaborator, and she shares the same passion for creativity, flavor, and community connection that has always defined Divergent.

While ownership changes hands, the spirit of Divergent remains. The bakery continues to stand as a symbol of resilience, creativity, and the joy of sharing something sweet with the world.
